Recipies With Ground Beef

• 1 1/2 lb/750 gm premium grade ground beef • 5 tsp Dijon mustard • 4 tsp piri-piri flakes • 1 cup bread crumbs • 2 eggs, beaten • 2 cups frozen peas • 2 vegetable or chicken stock cubes • 1 tsp sugar • 6 shoulder bacon rashers • toothpicks • 1 cup of gravy, made to instructions

• Preheat oven to 380F/190C • Combine all the ingredients except the bacon rashers • On a baking tray lined with foil, place the bacon rashers overlapping a little • Place meat mixture onto the rashers • Without disturbing the bacon rashers, form the meat into a roll. Compress firmly • Wrap the rashers over the meat loaf and secure with toothpicks • If there is surplus ground meat mixture, make them into a single rasher, making a single roll. Use a toothpick to keep the rasher in place • Cover loosely with foil tucking the short sides in to hold the foil firmly, but leaving the long sides open for circulation of hot air • Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the top foil and bake for 10 minutes to brown the bacon • Make gravy according to instructions on the packet • Take out toothpicks when serving |
